FootageFest 2024 Set for September in Marina Del Rey

While it seems like it was just yesterday that we were all congregating at the fabulous El Portal Theatre complex in North Hollywood, FootageFest ’24 is now only seven months away. And after just three years of live conferences, FootageFest has become the fastest-growing conference in the footage industry, and, as a result of their growing attendance numbers, will be moving their home base to the spectacular Marriott Hotel in Marina Del Rey, providing more time and more room to network, and fewer distractions as attendees can stay at the conference location. We’re talking 24-hour networking!

FootageFest will take place over three days, beginning on Thursday, September 26th and concluding on Saturday, September 28th, 2024, with the Marketplace and symposiums taking place over two days on September 27th and 28th.

This year Fox Archives will return as FootageFest’s leading sponsor.  As a result of the much-talked-about unique backlot tours FootageFest has offered international delegates in the past, FootageFest ’24 will kick off with a special “Fox Thursday,” offering more attendees unparalleled access to Fox’s amazing lot.  In addition to a private tour -- which is not available to the public – delegates will be privy to special historical presentations about the studio’s amazing history, as well as Fox Archives’ ongoing efforts to rescue content from their news affiliates and make it available to our industry.

This year FootageFest will offer two full days of exhibitor time, with no competing panels, meaning attendees will not have to choose between the amazing panels, guests and presentations they want to attend.

Here a few of the panels they’ll be presenting at FootageFest 2024:

  • Artificial Intelligence...Where Are We Now?:  A look at the recent developments – both exciting and yet frightening!

  • The Life and Death of TV Variety: featuring legendary Laugh-in creator George Schlatter.

  • The History of Viral Videos: From the days of tape-trading to digital agencies – how this VHS-dubbing hobby morphed into a billion-dollar business.

  • FootageFest will also be debuting workshops, our first featuring online guru, Greg Fein.

  • And the return of…Rich Remsberg’s ‘Historical Show & Tell.’

All of this within a stone’s throw of Mother’s Beach at the Marina, where FootageFest will host their beach party, as well as a rooftop party with an amazing view of the nearby Pacific Ocean.

Make sure to take advantage of their early-bird rate for attendees, as well as exhibitors. Remember, each conference has sold out of exhibitor space, and although they’ll have a larger space this year – don’t be left out of this amazing event.
